How long will it take to completely remove my tattoo?
Laser tattoo removal is a journey that requires both time and commitment. Luckily, treatment sessions are generally shorter than other aesthetic procedures and can take anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes, depending on the size and colors of the tattoo being treated. Treatment sessions are scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart to ensure enough time for your skin to heal before receiving its next treatment. More time is given to patients with darker skin tones or sensitive skin.
Keep in mind that all patients react differently to the procedure and may experience their ink fade at different rates. Some patients may take a few months to see complete removal while others may take a year or more—it all depends on the features of your tattoo. Our Trinity laser is equipped with three powerful wavelengths to remove unwanted tattoos of all colors in as few treatments as possible.
How many treatments will I need?
There are many factors that affect the number of treatments you need and how quickly your tattoo can be removed. The most prominent factors are: age of the tattoo, location, density of ink, types of colors used, patient’s health, and any pre-existing scarring. The average patient needs between 3 to 12 treatments before achieving complete removal. Our Astanza Trinity is specially engineered to target and eliminate ink faster, better, and in fewer treatment sessions.
What does tattoo removal feel like?
Patients may experience some discomfort, but it is definitely not as bad as others make it out to be. Everyone has a certain pain threshold, but if you can endure having a tattoo applied, you can definitely tolerate getting one removed. Many patients have described the treatment as having a rubber band snapped against the skin. Thankfully, the treatment lasts only a few minutes and goes by exceptionally fast. L.E.O. Laser Errors Off also offers numbing solutions to help minimize any discomfort during treatment.
Are there any side effects?
Patients often experience temporary redness, swelling, blistering, and scabbing. These are all signs of an effective treatment and means that your body is hard at work removing the ink. Patients with darker skin tones may also experience some temporary discoloration of the skin surrounding the treated area. Our Trinity laser features a homogenized, flat-top laser beam that allows for greater precision, minimal treatment overlap, and lower risk of side effects for patients with darker skin tones.
All patients are advised to resist tampering with any blisters or scabs that form. These are normal responses and positive indications that your skin is responding well to the procedure and is in the process of healing. Doing otherwise may increase chances of scarring or permanent damage.

Can you remove a specific part of my tattoo?
Absolutely! Our Trinity laser is extremely precise and enables us to selectively isolate and target areas of your tattoo that need to be removed. We are also able to fade tattoos in preparation for a cover-up. Lightening tattoos makes it easier for tattoo artists to add additional work on top of an existing tattoo, helping you achieve the look that you want.
